Hi, I’m Nick
I’m a game designer & developer based in Pasadena, CA.
My work spans experimental interface design, digital storytelling, and game development.
I'm currently seeking roles in UX design and technical game design.
Early in my practice, I explored my interest in interaction design through playful interventions with technology, creating games with unconventional control schemes to question our assumptions about how we interact with technology and each other.
Over time, I became interested in scaling up both the craft and conceptual ambition of my work. I started using game development tools and animation to create generative, immersive installations exploring social and political themes—experimenting with how procedural, game-like systems could create meaning around complex issues like labor, ecology, and history.
Recently, I've returned to game design with Cinder Ridge, synthesizing my interests in design and storytelling.
Through iterative testing and prototyping, I've focused on creating intuitive, engaging systems that deepen the game's themes around environmental stewardship and leadership as facilitation rather than top-down control.
